Van Gogh was a famous painter. He suffered off mental illness throughoout is life and largely unknown.The extent to which is mental illnes affected is painting has been a subject off speculation since his death. His mental illness was so serious that cut his ear and offered it to a prostitute. He cut his left ear but he painted his right ear because he looked in the mirror.




The Starry Night over the Rhone

The picture was painted in 1888. The picture had two lovers walking on the beach. Van Gogh puts much importance at the bright colours of the night sky.














Café terrace at Night

The picture was painted in 1889 in France. The picture had people walking by the street and others drinking in the terrace.
The picture was painted in the night and is iluminated with light the night.

He chose the job of sower because it is a hard job.

When he was in a Sanatorium , hewas painted the painting.
He looked through a window and looks the railway.

The Potato Eaters/Sunflowers/Olive Trees/Harold and Cleivis


The Potato Eaters, completed in 1885, is considered by many to be Van Gogh's first great work of art.
The painting that was completed consisted of 5 figures sitting around a square table eating potatoes; four of them are females and one male,the mixed emotions residing in the faces of the occupants shine out brightly.
It was not successful in his life time.



Sunflowers.
Part of a still life series of 30 works depicting groups of 12 and 15 sunflowers.
They were painted during the summer and autumn months when the sunny days.
His treatment of sunflowers, which was conceptually innovative, made that flower synonymous with his name.



Olive Trees
Painted with his heart and his feelings, and the bold colors and unrestrained brushstrokes of “Olive Trees” depict them with all the frantic emotion they inspired in him. A post-Impressionist who powerfully influenced modern Expressionism, Fauvism and early abstraction.
